Application Of FSA In Oil Tanker Safety

Despite the global economic slowdown, resulting in demand for oil products is not large, but the transportation of profit is still considerable, the global tanker fleet remains high proportion. How to ensure the safety of oil tankers during the operation is a hot research issue in maritime.Based on the theoretical framework of safety assessment and application of the status, this paper analysis the main features of the tankers, the main routes of the oil tanker, the motion of the tanker, etc. Then respectively analyses the crew, ship and influence of management department on oil tanker operations. And lists the main problems, such as some of the crew is not strong sense of responsibility, the device uses unskilled, emergency procedures are not clear. Ship structures and equipment obsolete, and some aging, and even lose their function, along with the use year of the ship increasing, the ship’s strength, tightness will be affected, oil leakage accidents have occurred; Then respectively discusses the influence of the ship company, regulatory authorities and the international convention on the application of the tanker.According to different influencing factors, finally gives the decision and suggestion on tanker safe operating.
