With the rapid development of world economy, strengthening industry has beengradually enjoying a significant status in the construction market. Constructionstrengthening methods using reinforced concrete or CFRP has gradually beenfamiliar to people and codified in the national standard. Fiber ferrocement mortarstrengthening method appears in order to respond to new materials, newtechnologies and market needs.Fiber ferrocement mortar strengthening method were analyzed and evaluatedfrom the aspects of technical, economic, and comprehensive influence factor usingthe test data comparison, engineering economics and fuzzy mathematics method inthis thesis. Thus, this new strengthening method can be widely used in thestrengthening of structures due to its great technical performance and economicbenefit.Firstly, the test results of polypropylene-engineered cementitious reinforcingmesh, polyvinyl alcohol-engineered cementitious composite (PVA-ECC) reinforcingmesh and steel fiber ferrocement mortar strengthening methods were analyzed.These fiber cement mortar reinforcing mesh strengthening methods were comparedwith strengthening methods using reinforced concrete or CFRP through technologyevaluation index.Secondly, the theory of engineering economics was applied from theperspective of investment and economic effect and it was combined with practicalreinforcement engineering. The material cost, comprehensive investment andconstruction period of fiber ferrocement mortar strengthening method werecalculated and analyzed using the economic evaluation index. Then it was comparedwith common strengthening methods.Finally, a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model was established. Data of the11technical and economic indexes were extracted by combining with practicalengineering. Objective set of weights of each index could be obtained by using theformula of entropy and entropy weight. Then, these three kinds of strengtheningmethods using steel fiber ferrocement mortar, reinforced concrete and CFRP wereevaluated and compared with each other.After a comprehensive analysis with technical and economic method, it is concluded that fiber ferrocement mortar strengthening method is a new type ofstrengthening methods which has excellent mechanical properties, simpleconstruction method and remarkable economic advantages.
