Distribution network as an important part of the power systems deliver the electric power to the consumers. With the increasing attention to the new energy power generation, more and more distributed photovoltaic power systems are connected to the distribution network. Power quality issues, induced by harmonics and DC component, have become a crucial factor that may affect the normal operation of both the end users devices and the distribution network. Then, it is necessary and crucial to analyze the power quality of the distribution network with the high PV power penetration.In this paper, the definition, classification and current research of power quality are reviewed and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm is introduced. Simulations are conducted with Matlab/Simulink, based on the single PV system and parallel operated PV systems. This paper analyses the power quality using the FFT, while the harmonics and DC component are produced by PV generation injecting to the distribution network. It is useful for the improvement of power quality and the further PV development.
