The rapid development of information technology in the current period, as represented bythe GPS positioning system in shipbuilding industry and maritime satellite communicationssystems have been widely used. Along with China’s Beidou satellite launched, the ship can notonly achieve positioning and navigation functions through the Beidou satellite, messagecommunication can also be used between ship and shore.Through in-depth study of the theory of GPS, GPRS, the Android system and the ARMembedded development, this dissertation developed a intelligent information terminal whichintegrated GPS/Beidou positioning, WIFI wireless communications and Beidou satellitecommunications network. The terminal is capable of receiving GPS positioning information andmonitoring alarm data of cabin, via Beidou satellite wireless communications network, theinformation is conveyed to the monitoring center on shore in real-time, at the same time,theintelligent terminal can also receive the related instructions and scheduling of monitoring center,complete the integrated information management of the ship.This paper has a simple description of the intelligent information terminals, it contains theproposition, background and research significance, etc., and then has an elaboration on theimportant theory which contains embedded technology, Android system, GPS technology,Beidou navigation system, etc., and analyzes the principles and characteristics of eachtechnology. On the basis of these theories, this paper puts forward the overall design scheme ofintelligent terminals, including hardware design and software design of the intelligent terminal,including hardware design and software design of intelligent terminal. First of all, in hardwaredesign part, the paper designs various function module and its interface circuit based on theplatform; The software part includes the transplant of Android operating system, and designedthe GPS and WIFI data communication functions based on the system. In addition, for the needsof unattended cabin cycle and remote monitoring, this paper also designed a cabin monitoringalarm software which takes advantage of the intelligent terminal to communicate with themonitoring center, it has a real-time transmission of cabin data, engine logbook, crewinformation, etc., established good communication platform between the ship and shore-basedmonitoring center. The terminal can enhance the current level of the ship’s information management, achieveeffective communication between ship and shore, promote the development of ship networking,the terminal have a positioning and navigation, communication and remote monitoring function.The terminal is of great significance to the construction of the ship integrated informationmanagement platform, and there is a very good value.
