Nowadays, the world is experiencing an unprecedented wave of urbanization。.China New Urbanization Report in2012shows:urbanization rate of mainland China has reached51.3%in2011, urban population exceeds the rural population for the first time in China, and it has entered a critical stage of urbanization development. Urbanization promotes the socio-economic development, and it also brings a series of ecological and environmental problems such as the deterioration of the water environment, the spread of air pollution, loss of biodiversity. One of the reasons of these problems is the spatial evolution of the urban landscape over time. Landscape ecology with its distinctive methods and theories becomes an important foundation of research tools to respond to the ecological and environmental problems. This article regards Hangzhou city (administrative divisions after2001) as the research object, based on landscape ecology and other related theories. In support of geographic information technologies, using the remote sensing data and other related data, the article firstly extracts the landscape pattern information of Hangzhou city by Erdas9.0. Then, using the space analysis and statistical functions of Arcgis9.3and Fragstas3.3software, the article calculates and analyzes the landscape pattern index and their changes of the Hangzhou city. Finally, using principal component analysis, combining humanities and social and economic indicators of Hangzhou city, the article analyzes the driving mechanism of the landscape pattern evolution in Hangzhou city and draws the conclusion with a certain reference value. The study has an important theoretical and practical significance on guiding the planning and management department of Hangzhou city and achieving urban sustainable development and eco-city construction. The main work of the thesis is summarized as follows: 1. Extracting landscape pattern types in Hangzhou city. Using remote sensing image data (1984,1991,2000and2008) as the primary data source, the article executes remote sensing image geometric correction, image cropping and band optimization combination by Erdas9.0and ArcGIS9.3. On the basis, through establishing landscape classification system and interpreted standard, using supervised classification method, the article conducts the experiments of extraction of classification information and accuracy test and acquires urban landscape pattern information of Hangzhou city.2. Defining the landscape pattern index of research scale in Hangzhou city. The process is as follows:using the visual revised land use vector data of2000, setting the grid unit as30,60,90,120,150,180,210,240(unit:m) in ArcGIS9.3, then making analysis and comparison by the eight different scales index respectively, and ultimately selecting60m for research scale.3. Calculating and analyzing landscape pattern indices in Hangzhou. The process is as follows:importing the visual corrective four remote sensing images (shp format) to ArcGIS9.3, getting the CA and PLAND value of Hangzhou landscape types from1984to2008, conversing four remote sensing images into ArcGrid format by conversion module, obtaining four landscape classification maps with its grid cell for60m, calculating the other landscape pattern indexes in Fragstats3.3, from landscape type level and landscape level analyzing landscape pattern and evolution of the Hangzhou, analyzing the conversion of different landscape types from various periods.4. Analyzing the driven mechanism of landscape pattern evolution in Hangzhou. This article selects the total population of the end of the year(10,000), GDP (billion RMB), the first industry share of GDP, per unit area of mechanized farming area (ha/1,000hectares) and the other eight factors, and uses the principal component analysis method to analyze the driving force of the landscape pattern evolution of Hangzhou. The results show that the landscape pattern in Hangzhou has a major change in the role of population, economy, agriculture, urban infrastructure and policy factors. Combining with landscape pattern optimization principles and relevant information, the article proposes landscape pattern optimization suggestions in Hangzhou.
