As the modernization of city speeds up, green space system-the most important open space in the city-becomes an important part of city planning and construction, not only making great contribution to the beautifi cation of city environment, the purification of air, the balancing of city ecosystem, but also functioning as an area for public recreation, emergency asylum, disaster prevention and etc. Dujiangyan was a terribly earthquake-hit zone in the5.12earthquake. After5years’rebuilding and construction, its green space system is now fully restored, with its emergency and disaster-prevention function improved and completed as well.This paper mainly takes the disaster-prevention green space in Dujiangyan as an object of study to evaluate its function as a refuge in disaster from the perspective of qualitative and quantitative analysis, hoping to provide some practical experience and advice on the construction of the city green land in Dujiangyan.The factors of the evaluation system include:environmental and geological condition of the target city, the influence of the urban spatial structure towards disaster-prevention, green space layout related quantitative indicators, and urban safety facilities. This paper has constructed a hierarchical evaluation system by applying the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and selecting49relevant aspects of the factors from four aspects:the city environment, city green space disaster-prevention structure, quantitative index and emergency facilities system. After the system construction is completed, questionnaires designed for the general public are sent out and then collected to evaluate, assign points and calculate with respect to each factor. The results for the evaluation grade of Dujiangyan city green space system function of disaster prevention is "good".The evaluation results are as follows:1.The environment of Dujiangyan leads to low disaster prevention safety ability. It is located in the Longmen Mountain zone of faulting with unstable geological activity and greater possibilities of geological disasters for many earthquakes or earthquake-induced secondary disasters like landslides may occur from time to time.2. The disaster-prevention spatial structure of Dujiangyan is of "good" level. In the main urban area of Dujiangyan, roads stretch in a radial pattern, and like a large bar in Juyuan district. The road network is not intensely structured with poor accessibility in diagonal manner. The city’s fast commuting network has not yet been formed. Except for in main urban area, the traffic condition in secondary roads is not satisfactory at all. It’s dynamic and static traffic poorly cooperate with each other. Intelligent inter-city rail transit equipment is still not in place.3. The quantitative indicators of city green space layout and disaster prevention function is "good". Dujiangyan city green space layout was a "one-core three-ring, five-corridors and stars" structure. That is, a structure with circular landscape greenbelts along First Ring, Second Ring and Outer Ring roads, making the central city a core; other landscape greenbelts forming riverside ecological green gallery along the five rivers; and other various green space to sporadically embellish the landscape. Thus, Dujiangyan enjoys more perfect urban environment.4. The city emergency facility system is evaluated "medium ". After the5.12earthquake, emergency facilities of Dujiangyan city are in relative good state, but software emergency facility system stays unsatisfactory, which can be seen in the inadequate emergency knowledge and emergency drills among the general public.’In view of the findings above, this paper proposes to improve Dujiangyan green space disaster-prevention system in the following ways:1. Reasonably arrange of residential land and population;2. Strengthen the green space disaster prevention facilities;3. Propagate disaster prevention knowledge and carry out more drills among citizens with adequate awareness of using green space system.4. Enhance the residents’ green-space-system-protecting awareness and the legal supervision on maintenance of disaster-prevention space.
