The growing shortage of traditional energy and accelerating pollution problems of fossil fuels, the human are actively searching for a new energy to solve the problem of sustainable development. As a future substitute for conventional energy sources, solar source is especially attached by the human as a kind of abroad and no pollution for its particular, so the development of photovoltaic technology become more and more quickly. But the high cost of system and low power generation efficiency are still restricting its popularity application.In order to improve the photovoltaic efficiency, this paper gives two feasible and effective methods to make the output efficiency of photovoltaic power systems to maximization. Firstly, it proposed a new method based on the hysteresis disturbance tracking method and the constant current method from the analysis of the existing maximum power point tracking control methods. The new method accounts to solve the problem of tracking speed and eliminate power disturbance, achieving the requirements of the photovoltaic system optimization process fast-track and high-precision in theory, and it makes photovoltaic array the maximum power output. Secondly, it gives the design of a simple solar tracking system that makes the condenser and the incident light vertical all the time by using several different tracking methods, maximizing the utilization of solar energy. The corresponding simulation model is set up in MATLAB/Simulink. Related simulation is done at the same condition of parameter. The results show that this improved MPPT has a rapid and high-precision tracking consequent in the case of mutations of external environments. This automatic tracking system used AT89C51RC MCU as the main component. The designs in this paper include both hardware circle and software. It not only introduces the important component of the hardware design and function in details but also gives the main design idea by using software flow chart.
