The inertia as a important paramenter has great employment in the field of military,such as precision instruments,aerospace, weapons of missiles and other field. And it also employing in our daily life, so it is meaningful to be accurately measured to the industryThrough study the theory of measurement of compound pendulum method, the effect of air damping and friction damping and they coupling together to the measurement method of moment of inertia of missiles using compound method has been discussed, on the basis of common compound pendulum method. we got the special compound pendulum method when the d=0(the geometry centre axis coincident with the compound pendulum’s rotary axis). The calculation and precision analysis formula have been present which concluded by special compound pendulum and the centroidal deviation as a important factor in the process of measurement of rotary inertia was take into account. The result of ADAMS simulation show that the special compound pendulum method can be apply in the practicality.he reflect of centroidal deviation to rotary inertia cannot be neglect.The method was more precise in the process of measurement of rotary inertia than the torsion pendulum when centroidal deviation was take into account, especially to the reflect of rotary inertia.
