MCO air compressor is boosting equipment, through its compressing stages, to control the pressure of compressor discharge processing gas. MCO air compressor has a wide application in various industrial fields, such as air separating, metallurgy, chemical industry, electric power, chemistry and foodstuff. Its structure becomes more and more complicated. Its features of high efficiency, safe and long operation have direct influence on the economic benefit of the company.This topic takes its source at a MCO air compressor designed for0.2M tons/y synthetic ammonia feeding gas route upgrade project of Anhui Jinmei Zhongneng Chemical Co., Ltd. This project selected a solution of one MCO1004+3BCL407compressor from Shenyang Blower Works Group Co., Ltd, driven by one NKS40/56steam turbine from Hangzhou Turbine Co., Ltd.The research on this tropic mainly includes below aspects:(1) It analyses the status in quo of MCO air compressor guide vane adjuster structure and oversea air compressor guide vane adjuster execution system. It also explains MCO execution system pull and thrust calculation and model selection standard, to determine guide vane execution system auto control process.(2) It analyses monitoring and protection on MCO air compressor bearing vibration and shaft displacement, to complete the design of monitoring and protection system.(3) It analyses the feature that MCO air compressor suction medium temperature varies with weathers in the4seasons, thus able to provide a solution to anti-surge control system suitable to air compressor.(4) It completes the design, according to the features of MCO air compressor unit processing, of the MCO process flow.(5) It analyses on working philosophy of TS3000, and explains the importance, the necessity, and the reliability of control system, to complete the design of air compressor control system. This article explains the features of air compressor, principles of its instrumental model selection, and also its control system optimization, thus provides reference to further research on MCO air compressor instrumentation and control.
