This paper introduces the concept and development of ro-ro passenger ship, it is likely that in the future, it would replace short-haul passenger ship business. But after collecting datum, it shows that it is arbitrary to loading and unloading vehicles. In most domestic ports, especially the ferry ports, it is more usually and call that’come on up’, so the situation is more complicated. Based on the coastal ro-ro ship’s vehicle decks, this article searches on the path arrangements under knowing the vehicle type, vehicle quantity and the order to the port. On this basis, using ant colony algorithm for the optimal path of each vehicle, establishing a path optimization mathematical model. Ant colony algorithm is an effective bionic solution to solve the path optimization problem, with excellent performance. And also reference gird method to establish the environmental model of the vehicle deck, making it simpler and more convenient. Finally, in order to increase algorithm accuracy, using double ant colony algorithms.Secondly, the frequent accidents of ro-ro passenger ship caused considerable attention, especially the safety of securing issues impact most. Therefore, according to Cargo Securing Model Manual of DNV, this paper designs lashing program. Using CSS annex13to establish a lashing calculation mathematical model, to check the strength of security lashing.Finally, it developed the vehicle routing optimization algorithm and the vehicle lashing calculation system by the VC++programming techniques. Routing optimization program can read vehicle deck’s parking space from CAD drawing, according to the grid method built environment model to number the parking space, and to select the algorithm parameters to adapt to more complex situations. Lashing calculation system uses ADO database, to establish the information tables of ships, vehicles, lashing and securing checking results. Get rid of the way in DNV manual, and making it more flexible and convenient.
