Research On Landscape Design Of Recreational Theme Park

The world’s first recreational theme park—Disneyland was established by the laterenowned animation master Walt Disney at California in1955. This new way ofamusement had a profound influence on later. Recreational theme park was receivedwidespread attention when it was built. With the distinctive theme connotation, the hugesize of the park, novel amusement equipments and complete supporting facilities,recreational theme park not only brought huge sensory stimulation for tourists, but alsobrought huge business benefits for operators. Therefore, this new mode of recreation had arapid development in Europe and other developed regions.Until1998,that the happy valley first stage which OTC investment completed, markedthe birth of recreational theme parks in China. Compared with the developed countries,Chinese recreational theme park was started late and lagged behind Occident for decades.So the research theory related is not perfect because the development cycle of Chinaentertainment theme park is short. The weakness of the theoretical foundation lead to thesystematic rational understanding and guidance were lacked during the process of theproject of landscape design and constructions. In reality, it’s often to see designersinterpreted amusement theme park was common to be understood as simple play parkwhich just simply list the amusement devices in the park or directly stereotype imitated ofthe foreign famous theme park. China’s entertainment theme park landscape has a lot ofproblems, such as the theme is not obvious, functional layout is not reasonable and so on.Therefore, it was very necessary to study on the topics related to the theme park landscapethat we could adapt to Chinese theme park entertainment trend of rapid development,optimization and enhancing our overall theme park landscape quality and level of thebuilding.In this paper, take the flourishing recreational theme park as the research object,focuses on the landscape design and related problems of theme park. The study systematicreviewed the development of the recreational theme park at home and abroad, analyzedthe landscape characteristics, influence factors and design of the theme park landscape, andsummarized the theoretical basis of the landscape design principles and methods.Furthermore, it’s also combined domestic and foreign outstanding case of the recreationaltheme park and putted forward landscape design principles and methods that suitable forour country’s condition. The following design principles should be followed in the theme park landscape design: thematic, experience, situational, culture, sustainable development,ecological and humanism. In the detailed design process, first at the macro level, set up theoverall planning ideas, the structure of the overall grasp park in the park layout and spatialarrangement. Secondly, at the micro level, should be in accordance with the establishedtheme park, rational utilization of all kinds of physical elements segmentation, contactfunction of the space, and give full play to their landscape effect, create or adventure, or asweet sweet scene, make the tourists fully integrated into the established theatrical scene inthe park.The aim is to strengthen the understanding of people for theme park and grasp thecorrect way of thinking and design methods through the thesis research, which provide auseful way of thinking and concrete technical guidance, and establish a systematic,scientific theoretical basis for related research in the future work.
