A Study On XMNUNISCO Container Original Manifest EDI Transmission:A Case Of Maersk

In2008, China Customs issued the 《Measures of Customs of the People’s Republic of China for the Administration of Manifests of Inbound and Outbound Means of Transport》(hereinafter referred to as the new manifest management measures). And it is the most emergent and important thing that the Shipping Agency Industry quickly develops the way of Original Manifest declaration to comply with the Customs requirements.In this thesis, the author applies the EDI eCommerce theory to the study.The thesis starts from elaborating the characteristics of the EDI eCommerce and the economic and social benefit,then descrips the declaration process of the old and the new Original Manifest and shows the difference.Meanwhile,the author analyses the necessity and the feasibility of using the EDI eCommerce to adjust Original Manifest declaration process and then takes Maersk Container Original Manifest declaration for example to detailedly descrip XMNUNISCO’s Original Manifest declaration EDI models.Finally,the thesis shows the implementation result of the EDI model of Primary Data declaration to prove the feasibility and rationality of the EDI models.The author concludes that the automated EDI enables carriers System, XMNUNISCO System and Customs System to dock seamlessly to meet the requirements of the new manifest management measures. This thesis can be used for helping ship agents and carriers to make scientific decision about the way of Original Manifest declaration and providing decision assistance about the implement EDI e-Commerce for the shipping enterprises.
