As a special ship of great potential for development,the hovercraft has a wide range ofuses and broad prospects depending on its unique advantages in terms of military andcivilian.Gas turbine is an advanced marine propulsion plant,which is no doubt the bestchoice for hovercraft propulsion system.To study the steady-state and dynamic characteristicsis necessary for analysis of hovercraft gas turbine propulsion system in use of computersimulation technology which is an effective means to achieve this goal.However,it is lackof domestic study of steady-state and dynamic simulation of hovercraft gas turbine propulsionsystem.So in this paper,we study on the overall performance analysis of hovercraft gasturbine propulsion system simulation.The simulation outcome has a great deal of significanceto provide the academic foundation for design and exploitation of hovercraft.In this paper, the composition and structure of the hovercraft gas turbine propulsionsystem is investigated.In order to establish accurate mathematical model applicable,variousparts of the mathematical modeling method is analysed based on the idea of modularmodeling.The BP neural network method is used to fitting the characteristic line forcompressor,turbine and air propeller to achieve the simulation accuracy requirements.TheMATLAB/GUI software platform is used to develop a hovercraft gas turbine propulsionsystem simulation interface,and the fast and accurate simulation results is achieved throughthe man-machine interface.The investigation of steady-state and dynamic simulation for hovercraft gas turbinepropulsion system is developed by utilizing the simulation interface.Firstly,the steady-stateperformance of the hovercraft gas turbine system is simulated and analysed. Somesteady-state problems is studied to get the optimum matching properties through simulationmeans,such as the external characteristics of split-shaft gas turbine body under differentconditions and ship-machine-paddle matching issue.Then regarding the propulsion systemsteady-state simulation analysis as the foundation,the simulation of the dynamic performanceof the hovercraft gas turbine system is carried out and the performance of the dynamicvariable conditions is studied in the two control modes.In other words,to achieve thedynamic response of each member through controlling the output shaft rotational speed set value and the air propeller pitch angle of hovercraft gas turbine propulsion system,which canbe a reference for the research of optimal control.
