In recent years, the demand for commercial vehicles in China has beencontinuous growing due to rapid development of the logistics industry and large-scaleinfrastructure construction. For commercial vehicles consumers, their workingcondition raised higher require such as better strength, longer running time forcommercial vehicles, therefore vehicles Ride performance has a direct impact on thehealth and feels of users, and it’s become increasingly important during the marketcompetition of commercial vehicles ride. However, in the early design process, mostof the domestic commercial vehicle manufacturers tend to empirical design, which isa way via foreign car sample reference to design suspension vibration isolationsystem, the analysis of domestic and foreign vehicles conditions is Insufficient, alsosame as the overall structure difference. Because of those factors, the vehiclevibration isolation system is less effective and ride indicators are not that ideal asdesign.Commercial vehicle suspension system is the main factor to affect the vehicleRide performance, but the complexity of vehicle systems and input parameters makesthe relationship solution of ride indicators and design variables become very difficult,therefore its results parameter optimization unable to be carried out. At present, mostof the domestic commercial vehicle design is still use a large number of passivesuspension system, which the stiffness and damping parameter selection is a decisivefactor of Ride performance. In this paper, use a8x4cargo truck as the research object,with the goal of good vehicle Ride comfort, the research and exploration of the relatedvehicle suspension parameters overall design has been done.First, raised the summarize of existing Ride research tools and suspension systemisolation process, the using of approximate model technology is determined, thenproceed mathematical modeling of suspension design parameters and ride evaluationindicators.Secondly, in allusion to the sample data access problems of approximate model,the computational precision and efficiency are take into consideration, select thecondition-space method to establish a9-degree-of-freedom vehicle vibration model.Take the tire contact with the road into account, build a FTire tire and road model withhigh precision for Ride simulation, then assemble these two models in ADAMS tocomplete simulation model. Then, in considering the conditions of speed and load, analysis of suspensionstiffness and damping parameters on Vehicle Ride performance are carried out. Buildan approximate model based on the design parameters and Ride evaluation factors,and proceeded design optimizing to get the optimized parameters.Finally, according to GB/T49702009, proceeded sample vehicle Ride testing andcompared the Ride data before and after optimization. Results show that analysismethod used in this paper is correct and with high feasibility.
