Mass concrete is widely used in our country. But the concrete is influenced heavily bytemperature stress in the pouring process.Excessive temperature stress is a serious threat tothe security and stability of the structure. It’s easy to produce crack in the constructionprocess. Therefore,The engineering experts and scholars pay more attention that whether thetemperature and stress field during construction can meet the requirements or not.Using finiteelement software to simulate concrete pouring process during construction to analyze thetemperature and stress field of various parts of structures has a very positive role to control theconcrete temperature difference, change the working conditions, modify the constructionschedule and prevent crack. In this paper, the research object was the No.2spillway tunnel intake tower of Hekouvillage reservoir project. The research was based on the theory of mass concrete temperaturecontrol and the basic principles of finite element method.ANSYS software was used tocalculate temperature field and stress field of a intake tower in the concrete pouringprocess.Calculation results of feature points in the different structures at different elevationscould be extracted and the variation was found out.And the temperature control measureswere put forward. The calculation results show that concrete of the floor and flank wall at an elevation lessthan222m meet the requirements of permissible foundation temperature difference in twoworking conditions. The concrete of upstream breast wall, middle partition wall, downstreamside wall and flank wall at an elevation more than222m also meet the requirements oftemperature difference between inside and outside in both conditions. The side wall mayappear crack in Condition One.Significant results are achieved by reducing the pouringtemperature, using the low heat cement in Condition Two.The maximum tensile stress of thefeature points in various parts of the intake tower is less than the current allowed tensilestrength. Both temperature and stress of various parts of the No.2spillway tunnel intake towermeet the standard. The tower body is unlikely to appear crack.Crack prevention measures inthe construction process should be considered synthetically.Crack can be prevented byimproving concrete mix proportion, controling pouring temperature, enhancing the surfaceprotection and paying attention to the construction in high and low temperature seasons.
