| Due to the asphalt mixture of traditional semi-flexible pavement materials matrixusing hot-mix and hot-shop craft, when mixing the asphalt and aggregates need to beheated to a higher temperature, that would consume large amount of energy,pollute theenvironment and be harmful to operators’ healthy, and what’s more the aging of theasphalt is a problem.For the disadvantages of the traditional semi-flexible material mentioned above, thepaper put forward a new kind of pavement material——cold mixing semi-flexiblepavement material, which is based on the matrix to form emulsified asphalt mixes thatlarge voids and open-graded by cold mix and cold paving, poured the cement mortar intothe matrix and then form a new composite pavement material. As cold mix semi-flexiblepavement uses cold mixing and cold paving process, it saves energy and can solve theaging problem, it overcomes the falling, loosing, friability of the cold mix emulsifiedasphalt mixture by improving the strength of the pavement material, and add to theadhesive force between the aggregates and so on.The paper refers to the research results in domestic and foreign, briefly analysis thestrength of the theory of semi-flexible pavement material by cold mix, developed aemulsified asphalt which has high consistency (high concentration) for the semi-flexiblepavement by cold mix in the existing conditions, put forward the design method of MixProportion after researched Mix Proportion for Matrix asphalt mixture and researched theperformance of semi-flexible pavement material by cold mix through a series of indoorexperimental, at the same time simulated and analyze the situation of crack propagationof the matrix by the element software—ABAQUS.The research results show that: semi-flexible pavement materials by cold mix hasboth firmness and flexibility characteristics, such as very good resistance to rutting andwater damage together with the energy conservation and environmental protectionadvantages of cold mix material, at the same time it overcome the inadequacies of thetwo materials. The road performance of semi-flexible pavement by cold mix meet theusing requirements of high-grade road surface layer structure and that would become the surface layer of the structure in the high-grade highways. The research results wouldprovide technical reference for the promotion and application of semi-flexible pavementmaterials by cold mix. |
