City waterfront landscape lighting design is an important part of the landscapespace. It is related with the landscape planning, architectural design disciplines. Todaythere are some problems exist in lighting, method, mode in the waterfront landscapelighting design.The future of green energy-saving waterfront landscape lighting model will beestablished. Green energy-saving lighting mode is "people-oriented". It will meetpeople’s spiritual and cultural needs in basic security function of illumination andrealize harmonious development of man and nature. We need to make three changes toachieve this goal:lightings to be diversity,lighting ways to be diversify,lighting modes tobe artistry. We need to put the lighting design into the city history and culture andprominent local characteristics. In addition, the lighting is not only the artisticconception of landscape performance factors. It should also be connected history,cultureand modern architecture. And it should promote economic development and publicpropaganda.
