Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is an active microwave imaging sensor, which canget high-resolution radar images, high-precision observation distance and Dopplerinformation in poor visibility weather conditions. Inertial navigation system (INS) is anautonomous navigation system which is of very strong anti-jamming ability. Wecombine the the SAR and INS technology to apply to the aircraft velocity and positionmeasurement, which can,on the one hand, make up the defects of the INS whose errorscumulatively increases over time, and effectively improve the velocity and positionmeasurement accuracy; on the other hand, enhance enormously autonomy andanti-jamming capability of aircraft velocity and position measurement in the complexenvironment. This thesis focuses on the actual needs of the aircrafts’ high-precision navigation, studies SAR/INS intergrated velocity and position measurement technology, andsystematically explores and learns the works of the SAR and INS. And on the basis, weadvance two methods of SAR/INS intergrated velocity and position measurement: leastsquares optimization method and Kalman filter method. and establish the INS model, the SAR observation model and the solution model, then do simulation, and get theseries of results under the current typical simulation conditions, which are satisfying. In addition, we study the different flight conditions which include INS model, flight mode, SAR down-view angle, SAR forward-slant angle, SAR scanning mode, thenumber of matching feature points on the influence to the accuracy of velocity andposition measurement. We find out the rules, and analyze the influences of single factorto accuracy, and check the main factors affecting the accuracy under different methods. These can be used as a counter-claims based on system usage patterns. Finally, considering the real harsh flight environment, we improve programs toadapt to match outliers processing and INS unit error output, and use simulant missileflight data to test the two methods, the results obtained are satisfying, which validate thestability and reliability of the two methods.
