Abstract/Summary:
Sealed Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid batteries are widely used in transportation,interruptible power supply(UPS),communications and other fields.Due to various reasonscapacity reduction and performance degradation of batteries will happen and ultimatelydisturb the normal operation of the system.Only with effective residual capacity estimation,the battery’s operating state will be well monitored.Research had been carried out in thispaper based on VRLA battery used on electric vehicles.Many kinds of residual capacityestimation were explored and discussed.Based on comprehensive understanding of residualcapacity estimation methods at home and abroad,a kind of capacity estimation model usingthe EMF and internal resistance of VRLA battery was suggested in this paper.An empiricalequation could be drawn from measured data of the EMF and internal resistance,which couldbe used as a feedback of the fuzzy model.It would improve the performance and stability ofthe fuzzy controller. Moreover, this article also discussed the establishment of battery voltageand current sampling circuit and signal processing system on AVR.Software had been usedto design MCU program and simulation of single-chip processing system.All these workshad laid a foundation for the hardware realization....
