Abstract/Summary:
Surface ship suffers from the air and underwater weapons impact in combat inevitably. With the maritime traffic becoming heavier and navigation density increasing, the shipcollision and grounding accidents sometimes occur in the course of voyage, causing seriouslosses. The sandwich plate system (SPS) is introduced into the ship’s protective structuredesign. It can improve the stiffness of structure and reduce the welding work and weldingdeformation, improving the ship’s vitality. It has great significance to improve theprotective performance of ship.Firstly, the numerical simulation modeling technology for SPS under collision load wasstudied in this paper. Then based on the nonlinear finite element software ABAQUS, thedamage characteristics of SPS under collision load were studied. And SPS was applied toconventional side structure, comparing the crashworthiness between SPS and conventionalside structure. Next, the protective performance of SPS subjected to underwater explosionload was studied. Finally the damage characteristics of SPS under impact load wereassessed comprehensively. The main research work and conclusions are as follows:(1) The numerical simulation modeling technology for SPS under collision load werestudied for the first time, including modeling method, connection form and element size ofcore and face plates. The results show that shell-solid model and tie connection formbetween core and face plates are more reasonable. The numerical simulation modelingtechnology for SPS are established.(2) The hull stiffened plate was equivalent to SPS and folded sandwich panel, according to the principle of equivalent quality. The crashworthiness of SPS, such asstructure damage deformation modes, collision force and energy absorption, were comparedwith the other two structures. It is found SPS has the best crashworthiness. The influence ofdifferent collision conditions on crashworthiness of SPS was carried out. The influence lawof collision location, collision angle, collision velocity, striking bow shape and rigid ballsize on crashworthiness of SPS is obtained.(3) The influence of structural parameters of SPS on structural crashworthiness wasstudied. The changes of energy absorption and specific energy were obtained, with facethickness and core height changing, providing technical support for protection structuredesign. (4) SPS was applied to ship side structure instead of conventional hull side structure. And the crashworthiness of the two side structures was compared. According to the results,SPS side structure has better resistance to deformation and better energy absorptioncharacteristics. It can significantly improve the crashworthiness of hull structure.(5) The protective performance of SPS, such as structure damage deformation modes, energy absorption, velocity and acceleration, were compared with conventional hullstiffened plate and folded sandwich panel. The results show that both SPS and foldedsandwich panel have excellent protective performance.(6) The influence of impact factor and structural parameters on protective performanceof SPS was studied. The changes of protective performance, with impact factor andstructural parameters changing, were obtained. It provides basic data for SPS applied inprotection structure design.
