Aerated concrete block is a new type of building material developed in the1930s. Itsmain raw material includes lime, sand, ash, fly ash at so on; it has been treated as one of thenew energy-saving materials. Due to its many advantages including light weight, highstrength efficiency, good thermal insulation performance, good insulation, good soundinsolation performance, good durability, high fire resistance, and good seismic performance, itis more and more used in modern building construction.Steel structure housing system is one of the rapidly developing structure systems in theresidential market structure area in recent years, it will be one of the major trends of ourhousing system in the future with no doubt. It has the features of light weight, high strengthmaterial, the small size of the member section, the effective use of a large area, shapeaesthetics, high construction speed, good economic returns, low environmental pollution, good seismic performance, and ease to industrialization and so on. In the steel structurehousing system, infilled wall steel frame structure is used most widely. Although researchersboth at home and abroad have already made a lot of researches on this subject, for the steelframe structure with aerated concrete block walls infilled is still studied incompletely;especially for the structure with the hole on the wall, the researches about its seismicperformance and mechanical property are still very limited. Therefore, the seismicperformance and mechanical property of aerated concrete block infill wall steel framestructures with the hole on the wall under low cyclic loading is discussed in the follow aspectsin this paper:1Referring to previous research, using ANSYS program to create the nonlinear finiteelement model, and consult with the previous test results to verify the correctness andfeasibility of the finite element model.2Based on the proved finite element model, combined with the practical engineering,total9full-scale nonlinear finite element model of3series are designed and are applied withmonotonic loading and low cycle loading to study the structure’s mechanical properties andfailure mechanisms. By changing the position and the size of the hole on the infill wall to study the influence of the structure’s mechanical properties and failure mechanisms withchanges in the hole locations and hole sizes of aerated concrete block infilled wall. Based onthe research, some valuable results and design recommendations are achieved.3By changing the friction coefficient between steel frame and infilled wall and axialcompression ratio of structure to study influence of the structure’s mechanical properties andfailure mechanisms due to these two parameters. Based on the research, some valuable resultsand design recommendations are achieved.
