The most disabled people have the dream to drive a car by themselves. This article designeda new electric disabled vehicle based on the design demands of presented disabled vehicle. Thisdesign optimizes the body and makes a simulation study for running smoothness, handlingstability and the handling stability under crosswind of the automotive.Firstly, this article makes a short introduction of aerodynamics, fluid theory, and numericanalysis which are applied to the body design. It get the basic aerodynamic parameters via theexternal flow field analysis of the body and the method of improving the body aerodynamicperformance through the analysis of the body velocity vector diagram and the pressurenephogram. Improving the body by using the analysis result, and then the body which has wellaerodynamics performance is obtained.Secondly, there is a introduction of the entire car modeling approach, multi-body dynamicstheory, vehicle running smoothness and handling stability. Establishing the entire car model byusing ADAMS/car and all or different levels random road by using the road modeler. Runningsmoothness performance of the entire car model is simulated on random road and pulse roadseparately. The handling stability is simulated under the condition of angle step steering andsteering reversal.At last, simulating running procedure the entire car in the crosswind when there is a anglebetween the longitudinal direction of the body and the wind direction. Also making the externalflow field analysis when the car running in the crosswind, so the side force will be obtained. Andthen apply a irregular side acceleration to the straight running car for simulation, the handlingstability in the crosswind will be obtained.The aerodynamic drag coefficient is0.40after the body optimization. It is lower than before,which meets the requirement of using. The running smoothness and handling stability are better.The handling stability is also better when the car running under low speed in fresh breeze.
