Immersive Public Space Color Planning And Design Research

Public Space color is not only the important influence factor of the space image, butalso the comprehensive performance of the urban culture, presenting the collectivememories of people living in this city. Since the drastic development speed of the city hassurpassed the development of urban planning and research efforts, characteristics of thecity are disappearing in the process of modernization and globalization. Functionalismaesthetics leads to mediocre appearance, and eclecticism transform the city into the world`s fair·. Besides, even little attention is paid to the importance of urban public spacecolor and studies aiming at this field still remain undone, which makes most of the publicspace present to the city user with the original color of modern materials, those materialsare offer colorless and lack of expression.Based on the chromatics, urban planning, architecture, sociology, geography,psychology and other basic subject, this thesis focuses on the inheritance of regional colorand traditional color characteristics and the formation of the collective consensus of cityuser, and put forward that color of public space should develop its characteristics such asstrong expressive force and strong location sense, to build the place with clearcharacteristics and contents.In view of the poor appearance of present domestic space color, this paper referencesthe new rationalism and new regionalism design thoughts and methods, which are designstyles that reverse the modernism architecture design trend, combining with the immersiveusing experience model in virtual reality field, and puts forward the immersive colourdesign concept and the narrative public space color design gimmick as a result. With theperspective of urban integrated planning and the perspective of visual experience of cityuser, and analyzing from the three aspects: improving the city image, conveying thegenius loci and building the immersive experience, this thesis presents a colormanifestation pattern that is full of performance and infection force and inherit the culturalcharacteristics of native and traditional colors. At the end of the thesis, field colorinvestigation and analysis are performed to Macau, which is with distinct characteristics.And native color database is set up to analyze the application situation of the immersivecolor design philosophy.
