All efficient and reliable monitoring&controlling system, together with an improvedtraffic control strategy, play an important role in the safe and reliable operation of thetunnel.This paper analyzes the characteristics of super-long highway tunnels,in order tobuild effective, reliable, full-featured monitoring&controlling system for super-longhighway tunnels, the system is designed based on redundancy control, and with the supportof Xi’an Jin-lu Traffic Information Detection and Equipment Industry Center for thereliability, stability of corresponding verification.Firstly, requirements of monitoring system for super-long highway tunnels areanalyzed in detail, and function and composition of monitoring&controlling system forsuper-long highway tunnels is discussed. According to actual conditions in tunnels,attention should be paid to demonstration program and design of traffic control, lightingcontrol, ventilation subsystem, and fire control subsystem.Based on design objectives, compliant with the requirement of high stability andreliability, the monitoring&controlling system for super-long highway tunnels carried outa comparative study of the structure are given for super-long highway tunnels in differentconditions of control, management programs and redundant strategy. The architecture, withhigh stability and reliability, based on PROFINET network redundancy control andINTERBUS efficient transmission using field bus is proposed for the monitoring&controlling system for super-long highway tunnels, and the system control software iscompiled, implements the redundancy control of super-long highway tunnels.The research results in this paper have passed the stability test conducted by TunnelSimulation Centre of Xi’an Jin-lu Industrialization Center, the design of software systemshas been achieved by Software Testing Center of Shaanxi Province, and the fruit of thepaper is then tentatively applied in Jiangjunshi Super-long Highway Tunnel, a section ofGuangGan Highway in Sichuan Province, and earned good socioeconomic benefits andcommendations.
