With the increase of the quantities of asphalt pavement maintenance in recent years. Theasphalt pavement maintenance truck, especially which mainly used the technology of thein-place hot recycling, was widely used and has been further promoted. The maintenancetruck can repair the usual pavement diseases which mainly contain pit, slot, network of cracksand the shape of cracks under the situation of satisfying with the requires of constructionoperation for reaching the designated position quickly, repairing quickly and transferringquickly. The overall scheme of the whole maintenance track based on the technology ofheating repair for the asphalt pavement is proposed by investigating and researching thesimilar products. The design and analysis of the system of the rotating bin, the sprayingdevice of the hot asphalt and the emulsified asphalt are completed. The research achievementswill have significant engineering application value for the development of technology of thein-place hot recycling and the exploitation of the asphalt pavement maintenance truck.Based on fully analyzing and demonstrating three kinds of designed scheme of asphaltpavement maintenance truck, it was put forward that the overall scheme of the whole trackwhich mainly include chassis cars, rotating bin, feed mechanism, heating panel and itstransmission mechanism, the spraying device of the hot asphalt and the emulsified asphalt, thelifting mechanism of roller, gas system and so on. The scheme has many advantages such astransfer flexibly, high efficiency, low maintenance cost and better pavement repair quality.Taking the rotating bin and the spraying device of the hot asphalt and the emulsifiedasphalt as research objects, the structure design and the analysis calculation are finished. Byanalyzing the design requirements of the rotating bin, The arrangement form and cross-sectionof the helical bladeļ¼Œthe helix angle are confirmed. Meanwhile, the structure of the helicalblade, the drive systems, the insulation structure and the supporting underframe are designedin detail. The drive systems of the rotating bin was equipped with that the hydraulic pumpsand the hydraulic motor driven by the truck engine. The hydraulic motor is linked up with thereducer to drive the rotating bin. The rotate speeds in two different directions of the rotatingbin are confirmed to fit the requirements of mixing and discharge. The spraying devicecontains two devices for hot asphalt and for emulsified asphalt. The hot asphalt is sprayed to ensure the proportion of the recycled mixture of asphalt. The emulsified asphalt plays a roleon conglutinating between the recycling asphalt mixture and the diseased pavement. Pump isused as the power source of the spraying device and the technology of the electric heating isused to heat the box and the pipeline. The volume of the box of the hot asphalt and theemulsified asphalt were designed.According to the analysis of the motion characteristics of the asphalt mixture that movedalong with the rotating bin, the flow field simulation of the asphalt mixture is completed bythe software FLUENT. Through analyzing the contour of the velocity distribution of theasphalt mixture on the interface with different helix angles twenty-five degrees, twenty-eightdegrees and thirty degrees, and considering efficiency of mixing and unloading of the rotatingbin, an optimized helix angle are achieved.
