This thesis is a research while also a process of learning. It aims at finding out howLe corbusier use curved surface in his architecture, through in-depth understanding ofhis projects with curved surface. The purpose of this thesis is not only decucing closedanswers on specific issues, but breaking the old mindset and develop a broaderideological space.The analysis and interpretation of the curved surfaces of Le corbusier is from threedifferent angles.The analysis started from the relationship between Le corbusier’s architectureand human body. Then answered the question that how Le corbusier using the curvedsurface to meet the basic body aesthesia and co-ordination with the movement of thebody.Then starting from the perspective of the plan,to study the curved surface andconcluded a basic plan prototype——“organ plan”, then analyzed the development ofthe “organ plan”.The last part discussed about Le Corbusier’s architectural features on how to dealwith curved surfaces. Curved walls and curved roofs are two main clues of the discuss.Then discussed on how le corbusier created the Ronchamp chapel.
