Compared with the traditional power industry, wind power industry is restrictedby the wind resource distribution. The wind turbine is badly influenced by badenvironment. They often working in the variable speed and variable load conditions,and they are Easily influenced by the torque, bending moment and axial thrust that isgenerated by the wind. So its components are prone to be distorted and produceadditional structural stress. The gearbox, bearing and generator which are the keyequipment of wind turbine appear failure frequently. At the same time, because of thewind power equipment has the characteristics of repairing difficultly and need highcosts to repair, so the state monitoring and maintenance in advance need to developimminently. For the expensive price, poor stability, low intelligent degree of theexisting wind power online monitoring system, the data is usually displayed in dataand curve. in most cases, the health status of the wind turbine need professionals toconfirm after fault diagnosis, and the monitoring personnel can’t intuitiveunderstanding of the operation conditions of the wind turbine.In view of the above problems, the wind turbine’s structure, fault characteristicsand monitoring methods were studied, the wind turbines operating status Simulationsystem was developed in this paper. The operation of the wind turbine can be real-timeshown in the form of3D animation in the system, and the monitoring personnel canvisually see the fault parts of wind power generator in the system interface, so thatthey can make judgments and maintenance timely. The development of this system haslaid the foundation for the realization of3D visualization monitoring of wind powergenerator.In this paper, by using the OpenGL techniques, the simulation system isdeveloped with visual C++6.0in windows programming environment. The objectmodel is established through the surface modeling and triangle method, and the modelis processed by special effect such as light, material, texture,etc. The special effect making the model has more realistic. Then, the assembly and kinematics modeling ofthe parts is done according to the constraints and motion between the parts of the windturbine. In this system, the data transmission for the operating conditions of windturbines can be achieved through the communication module. the kinematicssimulation and state display of wind turbine can be achieved through the data. At thesame time, the simulation interface can show the faulty components and the fault typesof components.In the last part of this paper, the implementation process of the system isdescribed, and the research contents are summarized. Finally, the article gives aprediction of the development of the operating status Simulation system of wind powergenerator.
