The building structure is a basic human production and living spaces, and it’s veryimportant to know whether the building is safety or not, so human need to study thereliability theory hardly and continuously. Through analysis the mechanism of action inthe internal structure or between the structure and the external environment, theresearchers can use more advanced theory and methods to evaluate the reliability of thestructure. By introducing a resistance model which is established by stochastic process,and using the time-interval method for analyzing structural reliability, this papercalculated the reliability between both structures in design and in service. Then thetrend of reliability which is changed with the design working life can be got. Bycomparing the difference of reliability which is calculated by the traditional calculationmethod or the time-interval method for analyzing structural reliability, it can be knownwhich is more reasonable. The particularity of the existing structure can be analyzed bycomparing the differences of reliability between both structures in design and in service.The major research content and the results of this paper are as follows:1. This paper put forward stochastic process probability model of the resistance ofreinforced concrete structures which considered the change law of mean, standarddeviation and autocorrelation coefficient by taking the independent increment processfor the designing structures and existing structures. To overcome the difficulties ofestablish resistance stochastic process probability model, it laid a theoretical foundationfor reasonably considering the reliability of the resistance degradation of reinforcedconcrete structures. 2. The reliability of the designing structures can be systemic analyzed by usingresistance probability of stochastic process models and reliability calculation periodanalysis method, and the effect for the reliability of the designing structures by thedegradation of the resistance is revealed more accurate. The reliability calculated by theresistance model of the random variable does not change in the design working life. Andthe reliability calculated by the resistance model of the stochastic processes decreasescontinuously in the design working life. The assessment of structural safety has beenmore accurate and more comprehensive.3. The paper analyzed the reliability of existing structures through using thetime-interval method which considered the effect of existing structure resistance incurrent time. If the current moment resistance can be measured, the reliability ofexisting structures is greater than the designing structures in the different designworking life. If the current moment resistance can’t be measured, the reliability ofexisting structures has a certain magnitude lower, and it’s greater than the reliability ofdesigning structures.
