Steel tubular formwork support system with coup lers is very importanttemporary support in the process of construction. With the rapid development ofthe construction industry, ultra high te mplate support is wide ly used in ourcountry. Because of the support structure is a kind of te mporary structure, itssafety has not received enough attention in the construction process, it led tocollapse accident occurred frequently in high formwork supports, whic h bringsgreat hidden for the safety of construction, serious ly threats the life safety ofconstructor, and becomes a major hazard source in ho using a nd munic ipalengineering.In this paper, calculation models of steel tubular formwork support systemwith couplers is establis hed by us ing the finite eleme nt software ANSYS. Theimpact of d ifferent factors is studied on the lateral rigid ity and stability bearingcapacity of the support system,these factors includes lift height, longitud ina l andtransverse spacing of upright tube, overhanging section he ight of upright tube,aspect ratio of formwork support,erection method of horizontal and verticaldiagona l bracing, coupler ’s stiffness parameters. The influence factors offormwork system’s instability mode is summarized at the same time, and thestability bearing capacity o f the support system is stud ied by changing erectionmethod of vertica l diagona l bracing, which provides theoretica l basis fordiagonal brace reasonable erection method during the process of construction.The main content is as following:(1)Establishing reasonable models of steel tubular formwork supportsystem with couplers by using finite analysis software ANSYS.(2)Counting the possible deviation of support system during theconstruction, whic h is applied to the top of the model as the initia l defect, andcalculating the corresponding lateral force(3)Calculating the lateral rigidity of the support system by using thenonlinear analysis method in ANSYS.(3)Calculating the stability bearing capacity of the support system withinitial defect.(4)Discussing the impact of different factors on the lateral rigidity andstability bearing capacity of the support system,these factors inc ludes lift he ight,longitud ina l and transverse spacing of upright tube, overhanging section he ight of upright tube, aspect ratio of formwork support,erection method of horizo ntaland vertical diagonal bracing and coupler’s stiffness parameters.(5)Discussing the factors which impact the instability mode of the supportsystem.(6)Studying the reasonable erection method of diagonal brace of thesupport system by changing its erection method.Through the simulation ana lys is, the influe nce is very obvious by theerection method of vertical d iagona l bracing. They are influencing greatly by thelift he ight, longitud ina l and transverse spacing o f upright tube, overhangingsection height.The impact is not obvious by the horizontal sc issors on the lateralrigid ity and stability bearing capacity. Through discuss ing the impact of differenterection method of vertica l scissors, this paper can play a guiding ro le for thereasonable erection of the support system during the construction.
