In recent years, radiant heating as a mean of energy saving, convenient adjustmentand comfort is widely used. In server cold area, the cold radiant of outer wall andwindow and radiant heating form an asymmetric radiant thermal environment. Theauthor aimed at investigating human physiology and psychology response inasymmetric radiant thermal environments. This experiment includes four experimental conditions.16healthy college studentsubjects participated in the experiments. They were requested to wear the uniformwinter clothes (1.02clo) and fill in the subjective questionnaire within fixed timeintervals. During the experimental period, the physiological parameters of subjects andenvironmental parameters of artificial chamber were measured. The research work andconclusions were described as the following aspects:(1) Investigate skin temperature, heart rate and blood pressure under differentconditions. The results indicate that the local skin temperatures are different under thesame condition; the local and mean skin temperatures are different under differentconditions; the blood pressure is similar under different conditions; the heart rateaccelerates with the air temperature rising.(2) Investigate local and overall thermal sensation, local and overall thermalcomfort under different conditions. The results show that the local and overall thermalsensation, the local and overall thermal comfort are different under the same condition;the cold radiation of outer window has a great influence on human thermal comfort;with the air temperature and the distance between outer window and subjects rising, thevotes of local and overall thermal sensation, the local and overall thermal comfortincrease; there is a good linear relationship between thermal sensation and thermalcomfort.(3) Investigate the relationship between physiology and Subjective thermalresponse. The results show that there is a good linear relationship between thermalsensation and mean skin temperatures, heart rate. The mean skin temperature is32.6℃when subjects’ overall thermal sensation was neutral.(4) Discuss the relationship between local thermal sensation and overall thermalsensation. The result shows that overall thermal sensation and thermal comfort aredecided by the most adverse local body parts, namely overall thermal response follows "complain mode".(5) The correlation of overall thermal sensation with local thermal sensation isobtained by stepwise multiple linear regressions. Hence, the prediction model on overallthermal sensation in asymmetric radiant thermal environment is established.(6) The relationship between overall thermal sensation, the maximum thermalsensation difference among local parts, overall thermal comfort and thermalacceptability are analyzed, respectively. We get the prediction model on thermalacceptability.
