With the increasing demand for environment protection and user-friendliness ofthe electronic industry, the electronic tin-lead solder used in traditional transducershas exposed its shortcomings, such as the over-high temperature and lead containing. For these reasons, people begin looking for substitute and the electrically conductiveadhesives (ECA) have caused our attention because of its superior performance. Inthis paper, based on the demand of the transducer, a high performance ECA isinvestigated and designed.Firstly, the selection principles of ECA are determined and the designformulation and curing process are analyzed. The influence of sliver filler content, the weight radio between flake and spherical sliver, and the amount of diluents on thefeatures of the ECA such as the room/high temperature volume resistivity, theshearing strength, the glass transition temperature, and the morphology are studied.By using the in-situ monitoring method, the volume resistivity and microstructure areinvestigated in the post-heating treatment process as a function of time andtemperature. To improve the conductivity of the sliver powder, the impact of thesurface organic lubricant on the resistance of the ECA and the mechanisms ofdifferent additions are investigated. Moreover, an affective bonding method, thebonding mechanics, and the failure type of interface are also found in this paper.Secondly, the experimental results show that ECA can achieve the bestconductivity when the content of diluents is15%and the resistivity of the ECAselecting mixed sliver as filler is lower when the radio of spherical sliver increases. The conductivity of ECA is significantly improved with the silver rinsed by alcoholand diluted acid because the sliver salt generated by lubricant and the silver isremoved. The higher of post-heating temperature, the lower resistivity can beobtained. Furthermore, additional conclusions about ECA are also obtained in thispaper such as the strength performances, the thermal features, and the applicationperformances.Thirdly, the research results show that2%content of silane coupling agent isoptimal and the toughening is able to reduce the internal stress of ECA so as toincrease the resistivity. Besides, the conductivity of ECA can be improved by4times with the conductive accelerator which increases the internal crosslinking intensitydramatically. Finally, the analysis results of packaging show that ECA belongs to the middlematch layer and its sound attenuation is decrease with the increase of sliver powderin the ECA. In addition, The ECA containing silane coupling agent has both physicaland chemical bonding and its section is cohesive failure. On the contrary, the ECAwithout silane coupling agent only contains physical bonding and the section ismixed failure.
