High-grade asphalt pavement in our country now entered a new period of medium andlarge maintenance. Discarding old pavement materials will be a waste of resources andpollute the environment.Cold mix asphalt recycling technology can reuse old pavementmaterials, and construct in room temperature with no pollution.Due to early damage of coldrecycled mixture, our country use the it in base course construction. As for surface course, wedidn’t have a mature system.Combined With large and medium-sized maintenanceengineering of Tongliao highway. We studied features of cold recycled mixture, developedoptimal mixing ratio parameters, ensure the performance that can meet constructionrequirement of hot mixing asphalt material in semi-arid areas. And construction technologywas improved, had been effective in using the technology on the surface of highway in thisarea.To ensure cold recycled mixture achieve the required of construction craft of thepavement, we developed optimal mixing ratio parameters through cleavage strength in15oCand marshall stability. The best moisture content was used to determine the emulsified asphaltdosage. Evidence showed that twice compaction molding mixture perform better than once.With research results of different factors on mechanical property and pavementperformance of cold recycled mixture, we know that: better low temperature crack resistancedue to more content of RAP, but with lower other performance; there’s a best Emulsifiedasphalt dosage that cold recycled mixture perform best; Under conditions of same dosage ofasphalt, the factor of emulsified asphalt solid content do nothing with splitting strength; Theaddition of cement enlarge the brittleness of mixture, this will be bad for Low temperatureperformance, but good for other performance; RAP and cement dosage were near-lineardependency with pavement performance.Considering specification request and economicalfactor, we suggest the cold recycled mixture in large and medium-sized maintenanceengineering of Tongliao highway with80%PAP,2%cement,7.3%emulsified asphalt.Usingof modified emulsified asphalt, early strength cement, early strength agent can Improve theearly strength. cold recycled mixture can meet the construction technique requirement of high grade asphalt pavement surface, and that of hot mixing asphalt material in semi-arid areas.Finally, the key link of construction technology and quality control of cold mix asphaltrecycling technology was summarized. The result shows that cold mix asphalt recyclingtechnology can bring good economic and social benefits.
