With the rapid economic development and population continues to grow, the amount ofwater increases, coupled with the scarcity of water resources in China, more and more seriouswater pollution, water resources has become one of the main reasons for restricting China’seconomic development. In recent years, China has put a lot of manpower and materialresources and build a number of long-distance pressure water supply works, in order to meetthe safety of the residents of the dry land water. However, the long pipeline of long-distancepressure water supply works, water complex, prone Column Separation Cavities Collapsingwater hammer, and severe water hammer hazards. Therefore, the long distance water supplysystem protection against water hammer problem has become an important issue for the safeoperation of the water delivery project.This paper first describes the programming principle and basis of the hydraulic transientmodel and a brief introduction to the numerical calculation of water hammer commonly usedmethod of characteristics, as well as The boundary condition to determine the formula of thepool pump, slow closing check valve, intake and exhaust valves, overpressure relief valve etc,in order to establish the mathematical model, and calculate the water hammer pressure in thepipeline. Have a brief introduction and summary of the six flow pattern into each other inpressurized water delivery pipeline.This paper focused on studying the low lift large diameter hilly long-distance pressurewater delivery system made a detailed water hammer in the most adverse conditions ofDandong. Also votes six kinds of water hammer protection scheme including installingslowly-closing check valve in pump export, exhaust valve in the key parts of pipeline andtwo-way regulating tower, and finally confirms the effective water hammer protectionscheme and important conclusions. I hope this study will have reference meaning andreference value for similar projects.
