It has attracted people’s attention increasingly to the problem of road traffic safety alongwith the widespread ownership of cars. A large number of traffic accidents brought us greatpersonal injury and property damage. It has become a pressing issue now that how to dealwith traffic accidents and find out the cause fairly, fast and scientifically. At the same time,using computer technology to analyze accidents as an auxiliary method and then reappearingit in3D have become an effective method to research the issue. In this paper, I createdthree-dimensional demo platform for vehicle traffic accidents, the main efforts of the workduring the creation will be introduced below.(1)In-depth study on the3DMAX modeling method and OpenGL graphics interface,vehicle model is created in3DMAX and then read and redrawn in the viewing window inVC++. Research the driven approach of vehicle model, using the geometry way which isbased on geometric operations to keep the coordinate system stationary. In order to meet theneeds of the diversity of the vehicle body color and save the modeling time, research themethod to extract the body color information and achieve parameterized setting of vehiclebody color.(2)Research on the modeling method of scene of the accident environment such as roads,the terrain and then establish many typical. Have a deep research on OpenGL technology,using the display list technology to optimize the display speed of models which should berepeatedly called which laid a foundation for establishing the accident scene which contains alarge number of elements. Building rain and snow particle system and using texture fusiontechnology to simulate rain and snow weather, using lighting technology for simulatingconditions at night, all of this makes the accident reappearance effect more real.(3) Study of the realization of three-dimensional demonstration platform for vehicleaccidents. Use ADO database technology to establish accident case library modules for theread of vehicle trajectory data. Apply VFW technology to establish accident animationrecording module for record and preserve accident animation. The platform finally being built is composed of accident case library, accident demonstration and accident animationrecording module. In the end, the platform was applied to actual three traffic accident case.
