Asphalt pavement milling machine for circular pothole is a newtype of asphalt pavement milling machine. It has a vertical millingcutterhead and a recovery system using negative pressure suction tomilling particles. It can mill circular potholes having regular shapes andvertical edges and it also can recycle milling particles quickly andthoroughly. It is derived from milling machine but has unique functionsand better work efficiency in terms of patching asphalt pavement. Themachine, simple and easy to use, forms the edge of circular potholewithout trimming. Repaired roads using the machine have good abilities atresisting the load of vehicles and hypothermal deformation. Althoughthe study of the machine is still in the beginning stage, its superiority inpatching asphalt pavement makes it have much better market value. Webegin researching the machine basing on its good market value. Thispaper expounded the author’s work in the whole process.The main work is as follows:1. This paper describes the current domestic and international research status andfuture trends of milling machine. And in this paper, we introduce the trait oftraditional milling machine and asphalt pavement milling machine forcircular pothole. In addition, we prove the superiority of asphalt pavementmilling machine for circular pothole in structural features and constructiontechnology, and so on.2. This paper ascertains the main functions, main parameters, operatingconditions and work requirements of the asphalt pavement milling machine forcircular pothole.3. This paper articulates each system and it’s function of the asphalt pavementmilling machine for circular pothole and in the end we confirmed a finalsolution.4. In this paper, we design the general arrangement, dynamical system, drivingsystem, traveling system, steering system, frame system of the asphalt pavementmilling machine for circular pothole. In the process of designing themachine, we researched the preliminary design theory of the new-type milling machine.5. In this paper, we research the performance of some of the asphalt pavementmilling machine for circular pothole’s systems. And we put forwardsome methods in the process of researching the machine’s performance.6. This paper simulates the stress and deformation of some parts by a CAEsoftware called ANSYS Workbench.This paper offers a reference for designing the asphalt pavement millingmachine for circular pothole. In addition we put forward the preliminarydesign theory and some methods of researching the machine’sperformance. It will play a basic role in strengthening the asphalt pavementmilling machine for circular pothole’s function and performance in thefuture.
