Officially opened on December1st,2012, Harbin-Dalian high-speed rail is the firstnational and even the world’s high-speed railway which is built in the alpine region.CNR’s CRH380B Alpine EMU is put40groups into operation, which include HarbinRailway Bureau’s12groups. CRH380B Alpine EMU is based on CRH380BL, whosestructure and function of the system remain unchanged. Meanwhile, the system isoptimized according to the alpine environment (Harbin-Dalian Passenger DedicatedLine). Deriving from Siemens company’ s ICE, Velaro E EMU platform, adopting theexperience of CRH5EMUs in the alpine region, and combining with the climate featurein alpine region, the EMU is completely independent innovation product. In order toensure the safe operation of EMU, the EMU’s daily maintenance is becoming more andmore important. This paper mainly introduces the basic concept of EMU repair, describes thedevelopment process of EMU repair system as well as EMU’s overhaul status at homeand abroad. With the development of high-speed railway in China and Harbin-Dalianhigh-speed rail’s operation experience and in view of EMU’s repair status, the paperuses CRH380B Alpine EMU’s overhaul of Harbin-Dalian high-speed rail as the objectof study. Also, the thesis seriously adds up all faults since CRH380B EMU begins tooperate. The hierarchy analysis is used and the order of the equipment’s importance isacknowledged in this paper. At the same time, it forms the repair mode of the importantfunction parts of the equipment and considers three factors: the reliability, validity andeconomy. It studies whether CRH380B EMU’s overhaul cycle design and the repairsystem maintenance content is reasonable. The paper evaluates the current EMU’smaintenance system to determine the reasonable maintenance cycle. The conclusion isthat increasing the maintenance interval can be feasible, which not only saves repaircost but also the manpower cost. This finding provides the scientific basis for thedevelopment of various EMU’s maintenance system and is of great significance tofurther improve the EMU’s maintenance system.
