The Research On The Theoretical Foundation Of Garden Climate Design

Garden, as the extension of the living environment of human life, is theman-made natural landscape through the transformation of the existing environmentand the mimic the natural environment by humans in accordance with the personalneeds under certain circumstances. It is un urban outdoor space that for rest, recreation,appreciation and activities.The reason why put forward this subject is because there isa lack of studies that analyze the traditional garden from the perspective of climate inthe existing literature about the study of traditional garden. Therefore, this paperattempts to analyze the methods of imitating the natural environment and how to solvethe problem of human comfort through climate regulation during the process ofChinese traditional garden designing and construction form the perspective of "climatedesign".This paper consists of four parts: the first part is the introduction, mainlyincluding the purpose of studying the garden climate design, which is to providetheoretical basis for the easing of urban climate worsening; the second part is theanalysis on the basic application factors of garden climate design,including therelationship between climate,people, and the garden; the third part is the embodimentof climate design theories in traditional garden design. This part case-studies theprinciple feasibility by respectively analyzing the four elements of topography, water,plants, construction of the major scenic spots of the Humble Administrator’s Garden,Lingering Garden, Master-of-Net’s Garden and Garden of Harmony; the fourth partdraws the conclusion that the comfortable climate is the comprehensive reflection ofthe garden elements climate regulation principles. The study mode of the combinationof theoretical study and quantitative analysis for the application of climate designprinciples in the garden is only an exploratory first attempt,and there till are many details needing to be rationalized and perfected.
