Combing with specific cases of parks in Shaanxi and Gansu and related fieldresearches, this thesis does in-depth research on the application of ecological plants inpark in Shaanxi and Gansu from perspective of applicability and artistic effect. Inmodern Chinese cities, various green parks constitute an important platform and placein which the residents not only can enjoy beautiful environment also relax themselves.The development and establishment of green parks represent the image of the city andlife quality of the residents. In recent years, a large number of architectural complexhave been being built while green area are reduced tremendously. This thesis hopesthat this well-developed concept and research results can be put into practice and thatthe government, landscape practitioners and ordinary people of all life of walks willpay attention to ecological construction and ecological balance in urban areas in orderto create better ecological environment for human and the society.As one element of landscape architecture, plant can make, constitute and expandthe landscape in terms of landscaping and ornamental features; plant landscapingshould be in line with actual needs and adopt reasonable allocation method.Traditionally, plant landscaping emphasizes visual effect. However, following thefurtherance and evolving of ecological landscape construction, plant landscapingcarries more and broader connotation. Starting from the concept of plant landscaping,this thesis discusses the features of plant landscaping in landscape design in moderncities, studies several main forms of landscaping and points out the problems in plantlandscaping and countermeasures.Over the years, cities in China witnessed constant changes and development, which promote the development and construction of parks in urban areas. The surgingrise of city parks makes them the oasis of urban residents living the cities. Thus the cityparks become place of recreation which is indispensible for residents. From thepresence of meaning and purpose, the city parks are not just for city residents to createa place of leisure and entertainment environment, also have become enjoyment andconvenience for people to learn about the society, nature and experience science andtechnology. In addition, the functions and influence of city parks are numerous. Forinstance, city parks enhance the city’s beauty in terms of appearance and image,balance the ecosystem in cities, coordinate the climate and refresh the air in urbanareas. Therefore, city parks play an important role in urban environment both in Chinaand abroad. Urban environment, or the space environment in which residents live, is acomplicated synthesis, and also a open ecosystem. Plant plays a critical role and has animportant position in urban ecosystem and ecological environment.
