A Portable Ground Station For Air-Ground Datalink Of Civil Aviation

The VHF Datalink（VDL）is one of the important means of air-ground communication in civilaviation,which has been widely applied as the standard configuration of civil aviation commercialaircraft. In the research of China’s air bus, both airborne air-ground data link system design andvalidation and data analysis of the flight need the support of the civil aviation technology with VDL.However, in our country, the research in the relevant fields is blank and also unable to support thefurther work of air bus deeply.The thesis research focused on the actual demand of the VDL in the development process of thecivil aircraft.And the research made the work of VDL ground station system which was based on thecomparative analysis with typical Civil Aviation VDL system differences.This work aimed at thedemand of air bus research.Firstly, the research work according to the functional analysis of the VDLground station system and the standard of ARINC618and ARINC620, optimized system design tomeet the demand of air bus development and made the evaluation on the demodulation algorithmscomplexity and the data transmitting capacity which affected system working performance. Secondly,the paper made the research of modem unit hardware system design and the completion of the datainteraction programming and debugging. At final, the paper completed the development work of themessage encoding and decoding, the message format conversion and the environment generation ofthe ground station system.The results of the system test in different environment have verified that theVDL ground station which has been developed meets the design requirements.
