UAV has reconnaissance and strike integrated, relatively small volume and zerocasualty.which is widely applied in the field of military, aerospace and commercialmapping etc.. GCS is the command and control center of the UAV,for example controllingthe take-off, the flight mission and the landing of UAV,At the same time, receiving andprocessing from the UAV’s flight data and sensor data, many of its research content hasbecome a commercial product, such as virtual instrument, the map control etc.. A set ofcontrol software is plays a key role in UAV accurate completion of the task and efficientcommunication.In this paper, according to the specific requirements of a small UAV GroundStation Software of control, research and design a UAV ground-based Windowspresentation foundation (WPF) technology, command and control software. The article firstanalyzes the status quo of the current domestic and international research UAV groundstation, summed up the design of the current deficiencies exist, and focuses on theimportant function of WPF technology in the UAV ground station software design of theapplication and the ground station design. The UAV ground command and control softwarefor use WPF technology to achieve the map control, virtual instrumentation and animationcapabilities; in communications UAV uses a multi-threaded asynchronous communication,data storage in the ground station joined the SQL Server2008database. Throughthe technology of DirectShow video streaming, real-time display of the UAV aerial video;and using Harris corner detection algorithm for image stitching technology embedded intothe UAV ground station software, the position of the region’s topography investigation.After the flight simulation system test and field test video data acquisition, successfullyverified application WPF technology designed to meet the UAV ground station groundstation system functional requirements, reliability and stability.
