According to incomplete statistics, motorcycles have already reached up to103millionvehicles in China by June2012. Corresponding to the high quantities of motorcycle is themotorcycle traffic safety accidents happened frequently. Except for the man-made factors, themain causes normally are speed and braking performance in a motorcycle traffic accident. Sothe qualification licensing conditions of Chinese motor vehicle safety technical inspectioninstitution and GB21861-2008have the rule: all the motorcycle testing institutions must fitout motorcycle road-test instrument at the same time. In this situation, the domestic researchon development and production of motorcycle brake performance on road test system isactive at present. With the motorcycle road testing instrument use more and more widely inthe motorcycle testing, the measure and verification of the equipment are indispensable, so weneed urgently to develop various kinds of road testing instrument calibrating apparatus. It hasimportant significance to the legality, fairness, scientificity of the motorcycle testing work.This design of calibrating apparatus about motorcycle Road testing instrument based onMSP430. Calibrating apparatus used by multifunctional turn-plate (simulation wheel) to adaptto different sensor type that have different speed, it can achieve the test of revolutions andtime and turn into standard revolving speed technology through the software, thus it cancalibrate all kinds of road testing instrument of motorcycle. Calibrating apparatus containmechanical part and detecting system. Mechanical part include photoelectric、multifunctionalturn-plate (simulation wheel)、 stepping motor、 transmission shaft、 flexible coupling、 boxand so on. The detecting system hardware include MSP430control unit、 power conversionmodule、 speed detection module、 key control module、 motor drive module and displaymodule. The electrical system software uses C language to edit in the IAR for MSP430software environment, make system overall and module simulation in the PROTUES softwareenvironment.The working principle of calibrating apparatus: It use MSP430as the System ControlUnit, the timing square wave generated by Timer B and through the I/O port output is taken asa control signal of the stepping motor, the signal drives the stepping motor through the L297and L298N chip. At the same time, four buttons are used to control the status of the motor,and an AMPIRE12864is used to display the speed of simulation wheel dynamicallymeasured by the photoelectric. By comparing the simulated wheel speed measuredrespectively by calibrating apparatus and the road testing instrument, to calibrate the roadtesting instrument.Motorcycle road testing instrument calibrating apparatus has important practicalsignificance not only to motorcycle and the whole motor vehicle performance detection area, but also can improve the motor vehicle detection system in our country. At the same time, itwill has the broad application prospect as the calibration device developed success, all thesecan create high social and economic benefit.
