Switched reluctance motor is a new choice for speed regulation. It has simplestructure, high efficiency, high reliability, etc. It has been widely used and becomes abig challenge for normal DC/AC drives. Combining normal electric excitation andnew permanent excitation, hybrid excitation switched reluctance motor (HESRM) hasa bigger torque/volume ratio. To decrease the time for winding current excitation anddemagnetization, this passage pays attention to the research of a new topology,four-level control tech.First of all, this passage describes the development of switched reluctance motor,including the motor structure design and new circuit topologies, and discusses theadvantages and disadvantages.Then, do more specific analyses for the four-level control, including basicprinciples, boost circuit, and some applications in HESRM, such as brakingperformance, motor efficiency, and direct torque control for minimize the torqueripple in HESRM. Compared with the simulation results of the normal asymmetryhalf-bridge circuit, the four-level circuit proves its high performance.Next, design the drive system for HESRM. The main DSP chip uses theMDSCNCD2808, which belongs to C2000control CARD,and is an ideal productfor students to develop projects. And the program is written in C/C++language.Finally, the experiment of the two main circuits shows that four-level circuit isvery suitable for the control of HESRM.
