With the development of shociety and economy and the expansion of cities in the world,the huge emission of Greenhouse Gas, mainly the carbon dioxide, methane, arouses climateand enviornment deterioration, and threatens human’s living survival. All people around theworld are paying most attention to the changes. Therefore, it is inevitable tendency to use thelow-carbon concept to various aspects of human activities.Landscape is the place for people’s amusing and enjoying. The plants in the gardens andgreen lands can absorb harmful gases and release oxygen, weaken noise, improve theenvironment of ecology and residence, and alleviate the threats to human beings. Using thelow-carbon concept to landscape construction will be bettering local climate and livingenvironment, which has reseaeching importance and practical value to meet people’s needs forpursuing nature and body health. Through reading a lot of materials in China and broad, theauthor researched the utilization of low-carbon concept to landscape construction, summarizedthe theory, practice and success in the whole world and qualitatively analyzed the feasibilities,tendency and importance of using the low-carbon concept, and then, pointed out some actionsagainst the concept, such as over-chasing delicacy, over-heightening the garden grade, usinghigh-grade materials, lacking of high qualified technicians, lowering level of administration,simplifying the mixture of plants without special features, increasing the construction cost, notelaborating the functions of landscape, etc..Taking Nanhaizi Park as an example, the author concluded the successful methodologiesby the constructors of the park, who use the concept to direct their actions for designing,implementing and administrating of the park, such as persisting the principles to priority forecology, to special features, to sustainability, consolidated consciousness for energy-save andcarbon-reduce, used local plants and materials, protected natural ecology and resources,adopted new technology, cut down the costs, taking ecological environment protection,greening and embellishment, carbon dioxide absorption and hydrogen releasing, culture spreadas the purposes of landscape construction, implement low-carbon construction and administration, indicate the ecological, social effects of the park. Meanwhile, the authorpointed out some insufficiencies existed in the first stage of the park construction, analyzed thereasons and granted effective measures, so as to direct the next three stages of the parkconstruction, open and enlighten the landscape construction in China for the near future.
