With the rapid development of urban transportation, growing number ofcable-stayed bridges are constructed. As the transportation hub, cable-stayed bridgebears much social significance. China is earthquake-prone, once the cable-stayedbridge was damaged in the earthquake, will not only causes huge economic losses, butalso will brings a lot of inconvenience to the conduct of the earthquake relief work.Therefore, it has a very important significance to the society that to have seismicanalysis and design for the cable-stayed bridge,and to ensure its safety under seismicloads.This paper is based on the actual project, analyzed the eigenvalues and seismicresponse of the cable-stayed bridge. By means of these analysis the damping settingproposal of cable-stayed bridge has been brought forward with its parameters beenprovided. The main contents of this paper are as follows:①The developing process of cable-stayed bridge、situation of bridge structurefailure in earthquake and studies on bridge seismic of domestic and foreign experts andscholars are introduced in the paper.②The introduction of China’s bridge seismic fortification target, a clear indicatorof the bridge to be met in the seismic design. This goal, the methods used in theseismic energy dissipation on this issue as well as energy dissipator classification.③The cable-stayed bridge have different structural system with the differentconnection composed of tower, beams, piers. Each system have the advantages anddisadvantages. There are three different methods to introduce the seismic response ofthe cable-stayed bridge.④Base on the actual engineering design drawings, set up cable-stayed bridgemodel by using the finite element software and discussed the vibration characteristicsvalue of the models in this article with the methods of considering the pile-soilinteraction or not.⑤Introduced the basic theory of dynamic time-history analysis, and the historyof cable-stayed bridge dynamic time analysis. According to the results of the Institutefor the Analysis, reached the conclusion that when the Energy Dissipation facilities of this cable-stayed bridge is not set, the longitudinal displacement of the main beam andthe bottom shear moment is too large, needs to additional seismic facilities.⑥By the analysis of viscous damping parameter settings, drawn the damperparameter settings for the cable-stayed bridge.It can effectively guarantee the safety ofthe cable-stayed bridge structure in the final determination conditions of theparameters set. Finally the cable-stayed bridge seismic optimization proposals for thisarticle is given.
