Car safety is the first indicator of automobile design and manufacture, and the automotive braking performance reliability is the most significant factor to measure the safety standards. Based on the theory of automobile braking, this paper uses the finite element method to verify the strength, brake vibration, noise and braking heat conduction problems of the major parts of the disc brake by the research and analysis of the main factors influencing the automobile brake performance by the ANSYS Workbench software.First, this paper summarizes the current development situation of domestic and foreign automotive disc brakes, the research level and trend of the development of new technologies to make sure the direction and the implementation methods of this paper. It also introduces the theory of finite element method, the thermal conductivity basic theory and software platform and so on. Besides, the mainly parts of disk brake and3d models of components and assemblies are set up by Pro/e software.Then, it studies the force transmission relationship among components in the process of braking based on the analysis of the structure of disc brake. Also, according to the demands of the braking efficiency, the constancy of braking efficiency and the stability of cars’ moving directions, the factors of influences in automobile braking performance are analyzed. What’s more, through analyses of braking wheel force, the ground braking force, braking torque, also of the relationship between the ground braking force, brake force and adhesive force, this paper explores the influence mechanism of the braking efficiency to the whole braking performance. Through Mechanical modules in the Workbench platform, this paper analyzes the structure statics of brake’s main parts finite element model to get the stress concentration and deformation situations, verifying whether the strength meets the job requirements.Through Modal in the Workbench platform module, the assembly of brake disc and brake lining band pre-tightening force of Modal are analyzed, calculating the inherent frequency and figuring out the degree of noise influence by brake vibration. Through frequency lists and cloud, this paper points out the zone that may resonate and screaming.Finally, through Steady-State Thermal module of the Workbench platform, brake disc body and friction plate are analyzed. Through the analysis of its heat dissipation law, the main temperature area of friction plate and brake disc have been determined, thereby explaining the reasons of the deviation of friction plate in real working condition. Based on the analysis of transient thermal of temperature field and the cloud, the reliability of brake disc and the friction plate material and the reasonability of parts’size are verified.
