With the aggravating of domestic urban noise and air pollution, And the increasing of people work pressure, more and more people hope to go outside by car in free time, to breathe different air. Along with the rising of this demand, domestic recreational vehicle (RV) market appear a gradual rising trend, driving RV to travel by self gradually become tourism fashion. The wooden parts of RV are the important parts of the RV interior, which are mostly made by solid wood in foreign countries, which are very expensive. But, most of the domestic RV manufacturers use artificial board instead of solid wood to make the wooden parts of the RV, in order to reduce the cost of RV production, to expand the domestic RV market, let RV become civilian.Due to the narrow space inside the RV, the wooden parts of RV are mostly processed into curved panel form to save space. But this way also increases the difficulty of processing the wooden parts of RV especially edge banding processing. Now the automatic linear edge banding machine that technology is relatively mature is unable to achieve the edge processing of the wooden parts of the RV. The edge banding efficiency of curved edge banding machine and portable edge banding machine is low, and their edge banding effect is greatly dependent on the workers’ operation technology. The above two situations all can not meet the demand of high-efficiency production. so it is urgently to develop a machine which can do edge banding processing in high efficiency for the wooden parts of the RV.In this paper. that the design of the CNC curved edge banding machine is on the basis of the study of designing and processing for the wooden parts of the RV. Firstly, introduce the overall layout of the CNC curved edge banding machine from the electrical control and mechanical design; Secondly, make the design and calculation for the important mechanical parts of the sealing system, like the edge band control system, the coating system and the roller system; Thirdly, made the innovative design of the base on the theory of the polar coordinate, and use the finite element software ANSYS Workbench to make the statics analysis for the base, to make the modal analysis for other major parts, to adjust the structure design of the polar coordinate base; Finally, in the Pro/E environment, study the simulation design, to provide guidance for further improvement of the design, as the example of the blade gap adjustment mechanism of trimming System. On the basis of the Pro/E bare metal mechanism, use3D software, rendering software to make the modeling design of CNC curved edge banding machine. Get the best program by comparing the multiple programs. This method can improve the appearance and the market value of the curved edge banding machine, and it is convenient to its market promotion. In this paper, the CNC curve edge banding machine has two operating states:manual and automatic, can selecting small or mass production according to the market demand. This design has solved the edge production problems of wooden parts of RV, help to improve the technical level of domestic curve edge production. Therefore, this machine has a great market prospect.
