Due to the demand of the development of offshore oilfield in China,all-vertical-piled and permeable jetty type road has become in use recently. Wave, amain dynamic factor in ocean engineering, is one of the most important loads in thestrength analysis and structural design of the all-vertical-piled and permeable structure.Since this kind of jetty type road is a new structure, there has not been muchengineering practice. Furthermore, the study of the wave fore itself is a tough task.Researchers have done a lot of work on the wave force on the permeable structure bytaking various methods, and many formulas have been presented to calculate the waveforce. However, a general formula has not been presented so far. Overall, it is not welldeveloped in the theoretical calculation of the wave force on the permeable structure.Based on an engineering project, the wave force on this kind of structure isinvestigated in this dissertation. First, the comparison of the existing formulas whichcalculate wave force on the permeable structure is carried out. Second, model testsand numerical simulations illustrated by the engineering project are studied. Then thewave buoyancy force and horizontal force are investigated and analyzed in the test. With the study results, the most unfavorable condition in the local engineeringenvironment is proposed, and the design for the jetty type road project is optimized. The study in this dissertation will provide the practical engineering data andreference for the research, design and construction of the all-vertical-piled andpermeable jetty type road as well as other permeable structures.
