Chinese Classical Garden shows its pursuit of harmony between architecture and nature, which is very different from one of the present theory of self-evident architecture that separates architecture from landscape. From the reflections on contemporary architectural practices, it can be seen that learning from Chinese Classical Garden to pursue natural way in architecture is still not late yet, which can also benefit architectural practice in the future. How to realize it? Mr. TongJun, as a modern architect and garden scientist, proposed the theory of "three realms", that is "proper density, the folding flow, eyes with the scenery", in his book of "Landscape in south of Yangtze River". It is the core standards for the operating position of the garden.Firstly, this thesis attempts to give a clear definition of "proper density, the folding flow, and the scenery", and to analysis the similarities between "proper density" and "site plan","the folding flow" and "Narrative Space","eyes with the scenery" and " Place Spirit" in architecture.Secondly, the main part of the research is to dissect Taliesin, Taliesin West with the standards of "proper density","the folding flow", and to dissect Salk Institute for Biological Study, Kimbell Art Museum with the standard of "eyes with the scenery". Although there isn’t intentional pursuit of the "three Realms" in Wright’s and Kahn’s modern architecture works, we can still find out the realms in some of them. Those studies show that it is possible that the "three Realms" in Chinese Classical Garden, as a kind of architectural theory, can be used in modern architecture research and practice. It is also important to develop and learn from the theories of Chinese classical gardens in the Present.
