Currently the traffic congestion problems is getting increasingly serious, and leading to a series of adverse effects:First, the inaccessibility traffic increases the time cost of work and life, then the congested vehicle not only cost fuel but also greatly polluted the air and harm the people’s quality of life and sustainable development of the city. As a response to the situation, intelligent transportation technologies show its importance and urgency more and more, which the simulation system presentate the plan of urban traffic is an indispensable part of the intelligent transportation system.This paper first introduces the international and domestic trends and research status of urban traffic simulation system, points out the defects of the existing urban traffic simulation system: the system is too complicated, professional expertise and knowledge is needed to operate the software, and gradually developed into a commercialized and excessive paid software or "expert system" dedicated among the laboratory researchers. In this background, this study proposed the concept of urban traffic simulation system is designed based on information sharing.And based on urban traffic simulation system, its system functions and the system requirements are summarized and analyzed, and after the overall design of the general traffic simulation system is studied, based on the spirit of collaboration between urban transport planning and information sharing. The system is divided into two subsystems:simulation information sharing platform and route guidance demonstration platform. Among them, the main function of the simulation information sharing platform is to build a network platform that the design of urban traffic simulation system and the information and data involved can be exchanged and shared; And route guidance demonstration platform analysis the real-time traffic and the control strategy of traffic lights at first, then use a dynamic path guidance algorithm, combined with3D Google Earth and Google Maps, show the optimal path of travel by a dynamic navigation system. Subsequently, revolved around the concept of information sharing, the technology applied to the two above platforms are discussed in detail:Firstly, from the features and basic functions of Google Earth, its secondary development technology and the relationship with KML, introduces the advantage of Google Earth on information sharing; Secondly, described the advantage of the characteristics of the KML language, as well as KML role in the three-dimensional modeling; Thirdly, from the perspective of the JavaScript language, information sharing is analyzed combining with network system, promote the urban traffic simulation system. The design process of dynamic route guidance algorithm is elaborated in the later chapters, as well as the system design process and effect analysis of simulation information sharing platform and route guidance demonstration platformIn the end of this article, the research work is summarized, and the system’s deficiencies and improvements are discussed.
