Analysis On The Design Of Outdoor Stop Space Of Miniature Holiday Hotels In Tourist Towns

With the growing enhance of economics and improvement of societal life standards; the tourism in China has been expanding rapidly in recent years. The prosperity of tourism lead to outstanding economical and social benefits and promoted frequently communications and interactions with foreign countries; and fulfill the people’s needs of traveling abroad and domestically, as a consequence that this phenomenon catches the attention of the whole country.It’s well-known that the outdoor stop space of a holiday hotel is the most important part of the architecture design which offers customers comfortable casual circumstances. The outdoor stop space of holiday hotels not only provides the basic functions and services of regular hotels, but also helps tourists to take a rest, associate with each other, ease the mood and enjoy the splendid views. At the same time, it is also the outdoor stop space’s duty to manifest the main theme, regional features and cultural contexts of hotels and create vacationing conditions possess both natural beauties and cultural connotations. All in all, the outdoor stop space is one of the most impressed points to reflect the characteristics of a holiday hotel.This dissertation starts with the definition and classification of hotel architecture, and then focuses on vacations and holiday hotels to probe into features of a holiday hotel. Followed by the case study of the A2(Doorplates No.141-181) massif on the Road of Democracy North of Lijiang selected after fieldworks of numerous hotels in and around Lijiang with the purpose of discussing the key issue of outdoor stop space. Last but not least, the thesis sums up the whole contents to suggest how to equip the miniature and medium-sized holiday hotels in small tourist towns with the pleasant vacationing space.+Since there are plenty kinds of stop space of hotel architecture, this thesis mainly deals with three kinds of outdoor stop space of miniature and medium-sized holiday hotels in small tourist towns, namely courtyard corridor, and terrace. Through field research it explores requirements and qualities to fulfill the tourists’ satisfaction and concludes how to create a delightful outdoor stop space of such hotels by the aspects of region selections, format components, dimension-proportion relations, space layouts, virescence, decoration and furnishings choices as well as human behaviors etc.
